Milan rules out Billy Baron for the rest of the season

More concerning news surrounding experiended guard Billy Baron emerged on Saturday.

EA7 Emporio Armani Milan ruled him out for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

Per the press release: “Following a series of specific consults, Billy Baron has returned to the U.S: where he will undergo a further surgery procedure to his right elbow. The player is out for the season. Over the course of the season, Billy has appeared in 3 EuroLeague and one Italian league games.”

Baron, 33, was sidelined indefinitely over recent months. The initial operation on his right elbow was performed in June with a second surgery following in October. Inking a two-year contract before the 2022-23 season, he is set to become a free agent following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. In limited action in his second year at the team based in Milan, he tallied 1.8 points, 2.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game. The American shooting guard is a veteran of 121 appearances over five years in the EuroLeague, spread between Olimpia Milan, Zenit, and Crvena Zvezda mts.

Dealing with additional injury issues through Alex Poythress (face) and Stefano Tonut (wrist), the team coached by Ettore Messina is heading in the bottom end of the Regular Season in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and Italy’s LBA UnipolSai. A continental W-L tally of 12-16 is distanced one game outside the Play-In zone. At 15-6 in the domestic league is one game behind leading Germani Brescia.
