Officially updating the injury status of Billy Baron, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan sidelined the experienced shooting guard indefinitely on Wednesday morning.

Per the press release: “Billy Baron, who currently is undergoing a period of treatment and more evaluations, has to be considered indefinitely out.”

Baron, 33, was ruled out for two to three weeks in January, following medical tests on his right elbow. Beyond the specific timetable, the latest check forced the Milan outfit to keep him on the sidelines indefinitely.

The American guard made his way to four games played in December, three appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and one in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai. Over 55 minutes of action, he tallied 1.8 points, 2.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per contest, tweaking his elbow. After an operation in June, he underwent further elbow surgery in October, delaying his return to action.

The native of Altoona, Pennsylvania, penned a two-year contract with Olimpia Milan before the 2022-23 season. Over 30 appearances in the 2022-23 edition of the EuroLeague, including 16 starts, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. His side fell narrowly short of reaching the Playoffs. Producing 12.2 points and 2.5 assists per LBA contest helped Messina’s side win the domestic league.

Besides Baron, Maodo Lo (right ankle) was recently placed on the injury list for at least two weeks. All remaining players are available for head coach Ettore Messina en route to Italy’s Frecciarossa Final Eight in Torino.
