BERLIN– One can easily guess that Fenerbahce Beko coach Sarunas Jasikevicius is not a big fan of the EuroLeague Final Four third-place game.

“It’s shit. Total shit,” Saras told Eurohoops. “We are always talking about this but nobody wants to listen to us, nobody wants to change. I always say the same: we have to show respect to the people who traveled around the world to see us, but I’m not sure they want to see this game. I don’t know the meaning, it is what it is. They don’t listen to us in many things

The Fenerbahce coach also spoke about how important it is for Fenerbahce to regularly reach the Final Four: “This is what we are waiting for, for Fenerbahce to be in the Final Four every year. This is why we have all come to this great club. We know the difficulties, but I believe we have achieved this goal. Maybe we haven’t prepared well for the Final Four, there were injuries and things. But hey, excuses are worthless, but our preparation could have been better.

A bad start meant that the Turkish side were always trailing Panathinaikos , affecting the entire match.  “After half an hour of delay, we talked yesterday that there could be a partial and unfortunately it fell on the other side. Then we started playing, we recovered, but in the end they scored some decisive baskets and we missed. In general terms they were better, especially when it was a moment when we could break the game but we couldn’t.”
