EA7 Emporio Armani Milan got the 97-93 win in Istanbul against Anadolu Efes.
It was a hard-fought game, which ended with the home team going to the free-throw line five times, while Milan made 20 out of 24 attempts.
Anadolu Efes coach Igor Kokoskov didn’t complain, but also pointed out politely that this was one of the factors for the outcome.
As he said in his flash interview after the game to EuroLeague TV: “We talked about three things in the locker room before the game. The most important thing was to play hard. I think we did that today. We competed, we played hard, and we did everything we could on the court. However, we needed to play smarter. We played against a very experienced team. Little details like timeouts cost us the win today. We need to be able to shoot more free throws as a team. We attacked the rim today, but we need to make more free throws. We need to figure out how to get to the free-throw line more.”
