Following his departure from Partizan Mozzart Bet, Gabriel Lundberg joined Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv on Monday.
“I am very excited to join Maccabi Tel Aviv,” he welcomed his move to the Yellows, “It is one of the most respected and passionate clubs in Europe. Every time I played in Tel Aviv, I felt the tremendous energy that comes from the fans and the atmosphere in the arena. I can’t wait to be a part of it, to compete, and to give everything I have.”
“We are happy to add Iffe Lundberg to Maccabi,” said head coach Oded Kattash, “He is a great guard, with a lot of experience in the Euroleague, ability, and quality. He can help us in many aspects, including defensively, and he has elements that we really need.”
The 30-year-old Danish guard is expected to enter the daily schedule of his new team following the upcoming double-game week of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season.
Lundberg is a veteran of 129 appearances in Europe’s premier club competition, from CSKA and Virtus Segafredo Bologna to his 2024-25 journey with Partizan. Last season, he put up 7.9 points and 3.0 assists per contest.
Tied with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne at the bottom of the EuroLeague standings, Maccabi hopes to improve the current 2-7 tally in games versus Fenerbahce Beko in Munich’s SAP Garden on Tuesday and Baskonia in Belgrade’s Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Thursday. At the domestic level, a 5-0 record leads Israel’s Winner League Regular Season.
