From four NBA seasons to his first overseas experience in the EuroLeague, Matt Ryan signed with Dubai.

His addition was announced on Thursday.

Per the press release: “Dubai Basketball is delighted to announce the addition of 27-year-old forward Matt Ryan, standing at 198 cm, who joins the club on a contract through to the end of the season. Ryan brings NBA experience, having appeared in 82 regular-season games with career averages of 9.4 minutes and 3.7 points per game, while shooting 40.2% from three-point range.

In the G-League, Ryan has demonstrated his scoring ability and versatility. Most recently, he averaged around 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during his stint with the Westchester Knicks. He has the size and skill set to play both power forward and small forward, offering front-court flexibility and reliable shooting.

As the newest addition to the roster, Matt Ryan shared his thoughts on joining the EuroLeague debutants, “Dubai Basketball is creating something special. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the club as my first experience in EuroLeague. I’m here to compete and help my teammates as we strive to win at the highest level and make our fans proud.”

As a proven shooter with solid experience at the highest levels of the game, Matt Ryan will bolster our roster and bring a fresh dimension to our forward positions.

“Matt is an elite shooter who can open the floor for us right away, and his size and range give our offense an important new dimension. He has proven he can perform in top competitions, and we are confident he will adapt quickly to our system and contribute to our success. Players like him are not easy to find on the market, which is why we are very pleased with this new addition,” said General Manager Dejan Kamenjašević.

The announcement comes as Dubai Basketball continues to create history in their debut EuroLeague season. Having played in the Adriatic league (ABA League) in 2024/25 and finishing third overall – the UAE based team are now fighting for glory amongst Europe’s elite in two leagues.

The Dubai roster boasts talent from all across the world and with Matt Ryan’s addition, the team are determined to strengthen their lineup for the better half of both leagues. The season progresses with Round 11 of the EuroLeague taking place on home soil at Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, 14 November against Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas.”
