Zalgiris achieved a victory in the 38th round of the Euroleague, as they defeated Paris in Kaunas with a score of 85-79.
With this win, Tomas Masiulis’ team did what they had to do and secured a direct spot in the Euroleague Playoffs. Whether they will be fifth or sixth depends on the outcome of the Monaco – Hapoel match.
Moses Wright played a historic game for Zalgiris, scoring 16 points along with his career-high of 18 rebounds, and led the home team with a PIR of 43. Sylvain Francisco was more efficient than him with 21 points, including some crucial ones, and Maodo Lo also added 21.
On the other side, Justin Robinson scored 17 points, Lamar Stevens added 16, while Nadir Hifi had 14.
We saw a very interesting game in Kaunas with two completely different halves. In the first half, both teams were scoring well, but Zalgiris, led by Wright who already had an index of 29 by halftime, took the lead (53-45).
They maintained it until the end, but Paris managed to come within just two points (75-73) with four minutes left, but Francisco and Sleva hit three-pointers and led their team to victory.
Zalgiris finished the regular season with a 23-15 record and qualified for the Playoffs. On the other hand, Paris finished in 16th place with a 15-23 record.
