Barcelona secured a triumph in the final 38th round of the Euroleague, defeating Bayern Munich on their home court with a score of 95-69.
In Svetislav Pesic’s last EuroLeague game, fittingly against the team with which he lifted this trophy, Barcelona celebrated convincingly and secured ninth place ahead of the Play-In.
Will Clyburn had 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, Dario Brizuela added 16, and Youssoupha Fall contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jan Vesely also scored in double figures with 11 points. For the visitors, Isaiah Mike scored 17 points, two more than Nenad Dimitrijevic.
In the last game of the EuroLeague regular season, Xavi Pascual’s team took advantage of the home court and the fact that the match held no significance for Bayern Munich.
After a somewhat sluggish start, the Spaniards dominated the court, pulling away to a double-digit lead by halftime (42-31), and ultimately secured a convincing victory.
This means Barcelona finished the regular season in ninth place with a 21-17 record and will host Crvena zvezda in the first Play-In game. The winner of that match will then need to win away against Panathinaikos/Monaco to secure the eighth spot and a Quarterfinal matchup against Olympiacos.
On the other hand, Bayern concluded the season in 13th place with 17 wins and 21 losses.
