Facundo Campazzo gets EuroLeague Playoffs Game 2 MVP nod

Facundo Campazzo stood out as the Most Valuable Player across Playoffs Game 2 in the 2025-26 edition of the EuroLeague.

Euroleague Basketball confirmed the Real Madrid guard as the latest MVP of the Round on Saturday.

Per the press release: “Facu Campazzo rose to the occasion with Walter Tavares sidelined, orchestrating Real Madrid’s commanding 102-75 home rout of Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv to earn MVP of the Round honors for Game 2 of the 2026 EuroLeague Playoffs. He finished with a PIR of 30, leading all players across Thursday and Friday’s Game 2 clashes.

The Real Madrid point guard poured in 23 points on an efficient 5-of-5 on two-pointers, 4-of-7 from three and 1-of-1 at the line, adding 6 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals as Real Madrid tied its playoff record for points scored (102). This marks Campazzo’s fourth career MVP of the Round honor, his first since Round 21 of the 2024-25 season.

Nigel Hayes-Davis registered a PIR of 29 – second-best among all Game 2 players – as Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens moved to 2-0 with a dramatic 105-107 overtime win at Valencia Basket, sealed by his walk-off game-winning basket. He finished with 27 points – his joint-highest mark since joining the Greens – shooting 3-of-8 on two-pointers, 5-of-9 from three and a perfect 6-of-6 at the line, in addition to adding 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 4 fouls drawn.

Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus posted a PIR of 28 as the Reds downed AS Monaco 94-64 to also move to 2-0. Vezenkov was surgical in just 20 minutes: 21 points on 3-of-3 two-pointers and 5-of-8 from three, with 7 rebounds, 2 steals and zero turnovers. Cedi Osman was close behind with a 26 PIR, amassing 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 fouls drawn in the same win, while Valencia’s Jean Montero rounds out the top performers with a 24 PIR, having posted 21 points, 6 assists and 1 steal in defeat.

Individual highs: Nigel Hayes-Davis, Panathinaikos, 27 points

Hayes-Davis led all Game 2 scorers with 27 points in Panathinaikos’s win at Valencia. Real Madrid’s Usman Garuba, given extended minutes in Tavares’s absence, topped the rebounding charts with 9. Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul’s Wade Baldwin and Olympiacos’s Evan Fournier shared the assists lead with 7 apiece. Valencia’s Braxton Key and Zalgiris Kaunas’s Azuolas Tubelis tied for the round-best steal total with 3 each, while Valencia’s Nate Reuvers, Zalgiris’s Laurynas Birutis and Real Madrid’s Alex Len each recorded 2 blocks. No players posted double-doubles across the four Game 2 fixtures.”
