Another crazy game in the Valencia and Panathinaikos series was played, and the Spaniards managed to secure a second break, thus bringing the series to a tie (2-2).
After PAO led 2-0, Pedro Martinez’s team celebrated at OAKA Arena on Wednesday, and then again on Friday with a score of 89-86, thus forcing a decider, which will be played on May 13th (21:00 CET).
The greatest credit for the victory goes to Jean Montero. The 23-year-old Dominican point guard did it all again with a tied career-high of 29 points with 5/6 two-pointers, 4/6 three-pointers, and 7/7 free throws, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, which “erased” the 4 turnovers in 30:17 in Valencia’s new victory over Panathinaikos at OAKA for the EuroLeague playoffs.
After a game, he gave his comments.
“I feel good about my performance, obviously, but I’m proud of the whole team for the way we fought in these two games. Of course, the job is not finished. We have to stay humble and keep playing our game,” said the EuroLeague Rising Star, member of the All-EuroLeague Team and now the record-holder in a modern Playoff history for PIR (45).
“I’m a competitive guy. I like these atmospheres, I’m not affected. I came to play, to enjoy the game, and to be competitive,” he added.
As for the continuation and the end together: “Obviously, Game 5 will be a very difficult game. We will be ready.”
