Don’t wait for the off-season. One of the biggest transfers for the new season is being finalized, according to Eurohoops sources.

Jean Montero is leaving Valencia for Olympiacos.

As it’s already reported by Mundo Deportivo, the player has turned down an extension offer for Valencia, and his next stop will be Olympiacos.

The 23-year-old Dominican point guard stole the show in his first year in the Euroleague, where he was named Rising Star and member of the All-EuroLeague First Team, as well as Playoffs MVP after an epic series that ended with a reverse sweep over Panathinaikos.

Olympiacos moved quickly, beat the strong competition, and the deal is almost done.

Valencia’s attempt to increase his salary until 2028 was not enough to prevent the transfer, while the buyout of under €1,000,000 was also too little to stand in the way of the newly crowned EuroLeague champions.
