With Dubai’s offer to Xavi Pascual on the table and Zeljko Obradovic already being mentioned as a replacement, the Barça coach, who returned to his former club this season, met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Tuesday.
The meeting did not disrupt plans or change the immediate future. According to Mundo Deportivo, amidst a wave of rumors, the continuation of Juan Carlos Navarro, the team’s general manager, was discussed, along with the implications for his inner circle.
The Catalan newspaper reports that Pascual met with Rafa Yuste and Enric Massip on Monday and remained firm in his decision.
Mario Bruno Fernández, Navarro’s assistant, may also not continue following the departure of the Barça legend.
Xavi Pascual’s exit appears to be having repercussions at various levels of the club. The iconic coach, who led Barça to the last EuroLeague title, will pack his bags for Dubai, exercising his €400,000 buyout clause.
This decision does not appear to have changed, despite the meeting between the president and the coach.
