Olympiacos center Nikola Milutinov underwent surgery on Thursday to remove osteosynthesis hardware from his metatarsal, the Greek club announced.
According to Olympiacos, the procedure was routine and not related to any serious injury. The Serbian big man was even expected to be discharged from the hospital later the same day.
Milutinov is coming off an outstanding season both individually and collectively. He finished as the EuroLeague’s leading rebounder, earned a spot on the All-EuroLeague First Team, and helped Olympiacos capture the club’s first EuroLeague title since 2013.
The 30-year-old also added a Greek League championship to his trophy collection, his third domestic title with the Piraeus powerhouse.
Milutinov will not participate in Serbia’s upcoming 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers window at the beginning of July, giving him several weeks to recover and rest before returning to action.
