Athens – The second day of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board (EHCB) Congress concluded on Friday at the Telekom Center, with another packed schedule of lectures and workshops led by some of Europe’s most accomplished coaches.
The day opened with a presentation by KINEXON, titled “Managing What Matters: Using Performance Insights to Keep Players Available and Performing,” focusing on the role of performance analytics and technology in maximizing player availability throughout the season.
The basketball program continued with Šarūnas Jasikevičius and Kazys Maksvytis, who delivered a clinic on “Offense against Hedge Defense.” The Lithuanian coaching duo shared their approach to attacking one of the most frequently used defensive coverages in modern basketball, while hundreds of coaches followed the session from the stands.
Jasikevičius also brought a lighter moment to the Q&A that followed. Before taking questions, he jokingly encouraged one of the participants to introduce himself properly.
“Stand up, say that you are a fan of England, and ask the question.”
When asked why England, he smiled and replied:
“Because it’s England. Why do you need why? It’s England, my team.”
If you didn’t know Saras was an England fan, now you know 😎🏴

Later in the day, Xavi Pascual presented “Special Situations on Defense,” breaking down defensive concepts for specific game scenarios before concluding his involvement with an interactive EHCB Workshop, where participants had the opportunity to discuss tactical details and exchange ideas directly with the former EuroLeague champion coach.
The Congress once again fulfilled one of the EHCB’s primary objectives—passing on the knowledge and experience of Europe’s elite coaches to the next generation through a combination of on-court clinics and interactive workshops.
With two days now complete, the four-day event will continue on Saturday with another strong lineup of speakers, as the EHCB Congress once again reinforces its place among Europe’s premier coaching education events.
