EA7 Emporio Armani Milan has finalized a significant roster reshuffle ahead of the upcoming 2026–27 season on Monday, announcing the arrival of versatile forward Nicola Akele alongside the departure of rising guard Quinn Ellis.

The 30-year-old combo forward penned a multi-year agreement following two years with Virtus Bologna. The 2.03-meter athlete brings a wealth of experience to the Little Red Shoes, including 44 EuroLeague appearances.

Akele previously developed his game in the NCAA with Rhode Island before returning to Italy to build an impressive career in the country’s top-tier division.

“I’m coming to Milan with high ambitions and ready to give my all to achieve our team goals. I’ll try to be ready every time I get the chance, looking to help Olimpia achieve the highest possible heights in Europe,” he noted, welcoming his move.

“I’m happy, excited, and can’t wait to get to know a club I’ve always heard great things about, even from foreign players, regarding their mentality and organization, which are among the best in Europe,” he added. “Personally, I consider this opportunity a privilege.”

Concurrently, the storied club has mutually agreed to part ways with Ellis, who has elected to continue his career in the United States at St. John’s in the NCAA, confirming recent rumors.

The 23-year-old guard leaves a lasting impression on the franchise after a stellar year where he played a pivotal role in securing three trophies. Ellis earned Most Valuable Player honors during the Frecciarossa Supercoppa 2025 and went on to also win the Frecciarossa Final Eight 2026 and LBA UnipolSai championships.
