Olimpia Milano has officially announced the signing of Darius Thompson on a multi-year contract.

The 31-year-old point guard joins the Italian club after spending the 2025-26 season with Valencia, helping the Spanish side win the Liga Endesa title and reach the EuroLeague Final Four. He averaged 9.0 points, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game in the EuroLeague while shooting 40.2% from three-point range.

I’m incredibly excited to begin this new chapter of my career with Olimpia Milano,” Thompson said. “My family and I are looking forward to making Milan our home and becoming part of the Olimpia community.”

Before his stint in Valencia, Thompson played for Anadolu Efes, Baskonia, Lokomotiv Kuban, Happy Casa Brindisi and ZZ Leiden. His breakthrough EuroLeague campaign came with Baskonia in 2022-23, when he averaged 12.6 points and a league-best 6.7 assists, earning a place on the All-EuroLeague Second Team.

The American-born guard, who represents Italy at international level, is expected to take over the playmaking duties as Milano continues to reshape its roster ahead of the new EuroLeague season.
