TJ Shorts is the new point guard of Valencia, the club announced on its social media.
For several weeks, it had been reported that Shorts was on the verge of joining Valencia, and the official confirmation came on Tuesday.
That means Shorts, who had his breakout EuroLeague season in 2024/25, will get the chance to play in a system that is likely a better fit for him than the one at Panathinaikos last season.
Valencia is also reportedly interested in signing Nadir Hifi, so in Spain we could see the reunion of the duo that helped Paris reach the 2025 EuroLeague playoffs, where they were stopped in the quarterfinals by eventual champions Fenerbahce.
Before Shorts, Valencia had already lost several players. Jean Montero left, as did Brancou Badio and Darius Thompson, and the club also parted ways with coach Pedro Martínez. He was replaced by former assistant Xavi Albert.
