Cory Joseph is staying with Olympiacos for the upcoming 2026–27 season, per Eurohoops sources.
The 34-year-old Canadian veteran point guard wanted to remain with the Piraeus outfit, even though several rival EuroLeague clubs were actively monitoring his situation. While a critical contract decision deadline loomed on Wednesday, July 15, the Reds have reached a deal to secure their reliable floor general instead of allowing him to test the market.
This roster security comes at a crucial time for the Greek powerhouse. Specifically, Dubai would like to secure the services of Thomas Walkup. Although there is no final decision yet on Walkup’s future, Joseph remains an Olympiacos player no matter what.
The former Canadian national team captain joined the lineup midway through the 2025–26 campaign after a brief stint with AS Monaco. He immediately made an impact, averaging 5.5 points and 2.3 assists per game in continental play to help the club capture both the EuroLeague championship and Greece’s Stoiximan GBL title.
The Toronto native arrived in Europe after a decorated 14-year NBA career that began when the San Antonio Spurs selected him in the first round of the 2011 draft. He went on to win an NBA championship under Gregg Popovich in 2014 and logged over 900 total appearances with teams including the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors, and Orlando Magic.
So far this offseason, the reigning EuroLeague champions have re-signed captain Kostas Papanikolaou while adding guards Jean Montero and Codi Miller-McIntyre.
