AJ Lawson is the new member of Baskonia, confirmed the Spanish club on their website.
The agreement, first announced by Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, is now official, and Baskonia has made an announcement on their social media.
“The 2.00-meter, 26-year-old wing player arrives in Vitoria-Gasteiz after gaining significant experience in the NBA, where he played 107 games.
Lawson began his development in the NCAA with the South Carolina, before moving to the G-League in the 2020-2021 season with the College Park Skyhawks. The Canadian player made his NBA debut with the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2021-2022 campaign and after playing for the Dallas Mavericks, he spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Raptors. This past season, between the G-League and NBA, Lawson averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and an average efficiency rating of 12.4.
Kosner Baskonia has added a dynamic player with intensity and scoring ability for the next two seasons.
Welcome, Anthony!”
The 26-year-old player has spent four seasons in the NBA, appearing in 107 games, making a splash mainly in the G League.
After not getting drafted, he signed with Minessota in 2021 and also played for Dallas and, in the last two seasons, for Toronto.
Back in 2018 he was part of the Canadian national team that won the silver medal in the FIBA American U18 championship.
