Partizan appointed Vladimir Micov as their director of basketball operations as Joan Penarroya’s team opened preparations for the new season at Belgrade Arena.
Among those present were Vanja Marinkovic, Joffrey Lauvergne, Alessandro Pajola, Luca Vildoza, Lamar Stevens, Derrick Willis, Kyle Allman and Kevarrius Hayes. However, Jabari Parker was absent despite recently arriving in Belgrade.
“Jabari Parker is a Partizan player and has a valid contract with the club for another year. It is true that his arrival was the wish of the previous coaching staff, while the current coaching staff has its own plans and vision for the team next season,” Partizan president Ostoja Mijailovic told B92 Sport.
Mijailovic confirmed that discussions over the American forward’s future are underway.
“At this moment, together with the player and his representatives, we are looking for the best possible solution, primarily taking care of Partizan’s interests, but also maintaining a fair relationship with the player.”
The Partizan president added that the club would provide further information once the situation is resolved.
“This is a serious matter that we are approaching with special care, and I would not like us to release incomplete information while the talks are ongoing. Once we have a final resolution, we will inform the public in due course.”
