Rebuilding their roster heading into the 2026–27 season, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne added Tremont Waters. The deal with the 28-year-old point guard was announced on Sunday.

The former Louisiana State standout, who excelled in the NCAA between 2017 and 2019, entered the NBA when he was selected with the 51st overall pick in 2019. He went on to play 44 games, including four in the Playoffs, splitting his time between the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Washington Wizards.

Over the last few years, however, he has focused his career outside the league to build a versatile international resume. His overseas experience includes a previous stint in France, where he suited up for Metropolitans 92 during the 2022-23 season, playing alongside future NBA superstar Victor Wembanyama.

On the FIBA stage, Waters has been a key player for Puerto Rico, representing his national team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the FIBA World Cup 2023, and the AmeriCup 2022.

By signing to ASVEL, Waters will debut in the EuroLeague, joining a deeply reconfigured squad led by head coach Tony Parker as the team readies for a demanding dual calendar in the top tier of Europe and domestic French competitions.

The explosive guard provides Parker with a battle-tested floor general to orchestrate an ambitious roster. He will share the floor with an array of previously confirmed talent, including Hugo Besson, Joel Bolomboy, Myles Cale, Jae Crowder, Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada, Both Gach, Edwin Jackson, David Lighty, Bodian Massa, Patty Mills, Yves Pons, and Nate Sestina.
