Justin Minaya signed with Barcelona for two seasons

Justin Minaya is officially the new face in Barcelona.

Per the EuroLeague press release: “FC Barcelona has made its 11th signing of the summer by bringing in Justin Minaya on a two-year deal.

Minaya (1.96 meters, 27 years old) spent last season with the Osceola Magic, the Orlando Magic’s G League affiliate. In 48 games, he averaged 8.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.

The American-born Dominican international spent the first three years of his professional career split between the NBA and the G League. He made 57 appearances in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers between 2022-23 and 2024-25 (four in his debut season, 34 in 2023-24, and 19 in 2024-25), averaging 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds for his career.

In the G League over that span, Minaya suited up for the Rip City Remix in 2023-24 and 2024-25, having started out with the Mexico City Capitanes in 2022-23, where he made 44 appearances.

Minaya turned professional after four years at the University of South Carolina (2017-21), followed by a final college season at Providence College in 2021-22.

He has crossed paths with a few current EuroLeague players. At South Carolina, he played 47 games alongside new Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz signing AJ Lawson (2018-21) and 37 alongside Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul center Chris Silva (2017-19). As a pro, he also lined up 23 times with new Baskonia big man Kenneth Faried at the Capitanes in 2022-23″.
