The 29-year-old French point guard is once again residing in Greece, having made stops in Munich (Bayern 2023-24), Kaunas (Zalgiris 2024-26), and connecting through Lyon (Villeurbanne). Previously, he was with Peristeri (2022-23) under Vassilis Spanoulis, and now with Panathinaikos under Zeljko Obradović.
Upon his return, he reunites with three compatriots, Mathias Lessort and the newly acquired Guerschon Yabusele and Moustapha Fall.
“With Bonga and Badio, there are six of us who speak French. So yes, we will be speaking a lot of French,” he said humorously about the French connection, adding that “one motivates the other. We know why we’re here.”
Zeljko’s presence on the bench is also significant. The initial experiences have been “fantastic! Just as I expected.”
“To be honest, it’s even better than I expected. The plays, various situations, and everything he wants to implement in offense and defense…”
How could he not be eager for the first game at Telekom Sports Center?
“I really like the stadium. Every time I step out of the locker room and see it all, I think about when the time will come for the first game (vs. Paris on 9/24 for the EuroLeague premiere). It’s going to be crazy!”
He had already noticed many other things from his first stint in the country.
“I missed the weather, the food, the Greek salad, the gyros… Mainly the weather. It makes you feel very happy going to practice.”
Sylvain Francisco also spoke about his love for anime, dancing, jokes, gaming + streaming, and cooking.
