Olympiacos has secured the services of George Pappas for the 2026–27 season.
The deal was announced on Monday.
The 28-year-old shooting guard has signed a one-year contract, officially bringing him back to the club where he started his professional journey in 2022. He is back in the Reds.
The 1.96-meter shooter returns to Piraeus with unfinished business. During his first stint with the Reds between 2022 and 2024, Pappas logged four EuroLeague appearances and helped the club capture Greece’s GBL championship, a domestic Cup, and two Super Cup trophies.
His path then took him across Greece, with stops at Promitheas, Peristeri Domino’s, and Panionios Cosmorama Travel. Most recently, he suited up for Maroussi, finishing the 2025–26 campaign with averages of 6.7 points and 2.2 assists over 15 games.
Now, his career comes full circle. The former Monmouth standout joined a rotation managed by Giorgos Bartzokas. The squad is already loaded with talent, featuring names like Sasha Vezenkov, Evan Fournier, Tyler Dorsey, Kostas Papanikolaou, and Nikola Milutinov. Giorgos Bourneles, Donta Hall, Tyrique Jones, Cory Joseph, Antonis Karagiannidis, Codi Miller-McIntyre, Jean Montero, Mbaye Ndiaye, Omiros Netzipoglou, Nikos Plotas, and Tyson Ward are also on the roster.
The New Jersey native and member of the senior national team of Greece adds reliable depth to a group that has high expectations. The defending EuroLeague champions are focused on keeping their momentum rolling, having already opened the new continental Regular Season with a 1-0 record and won Greece’s Stoiximan Super Cup on Sunday.
