Mike James’ injury has raised concern following his early departure from the court, with Anadolu Efes head coach Pablo Laso admitting that the initial signs “don’t look good.”
James was forced to leave the game after suffering the injury, in a worrying moment for Anadolu Efes. Speaking after the game, Laso acknowledged the seriousness of the situation while stressing that the club will wait for further medical examinations before drawing any conclusions. “It doesn’t look good. But for sure we trust our medical stuff, we will make more tests tomorrow when we come back to Istanbul,” Laso said.
The injury was a particularly difficult moment for Anadolu Efes, given James’ importance to the team. Laso admitted that seeing the guard leave the court was a setback for the group, but praised his players for their response after losing one of their key contributors. “For sure it was a bad moment for the team when you see a player leaving the court in the way he did,” Laso said. “But, I think we showed the character to stay in the game after injury.”
Anadolu Efes will now wait for the results of the additional tests before determining the extent of James’ injury, which unforuntately appears to be a torn Achilles.
