Barcelona president Joan Laporta will attend Tuesday’s EuroLeague club owners’ meeting in Como, Italy, the club announced.

The meeting will focus on the competition’s strategic direction for the next decade, including planned expansion for next season, the potential conversion of 10-year licenses into franchises, and an increase from 13 current members to 21 through the addition of eight new franchises.

Laporta will be accompanied by board members responsible for basketball Sisco Pujol and Jaume Nicolàs, board secretary Josep Cubells, and professional sports director Xavier O’Callaghan.

Barcelona said its participation reaffirms its commitment to EuroLeague and its desire to play an active role in the decisions shaping the competition’s future.
