Euroleague Basketball joins forces with the European Week of Sport, aiming to promote a better living and physical fitness. Here is the official announcement as follows:

Euroleague Basketball and its member clubs are proud to take a message of physical fitness and social goodwill across the continent under a new partnership with the European Week of Sport, which begins on Saturday, September 10.

The encouragement of active participation in team and individual sports to improve both health and community integration is part of Euroleague Basketball’s ethos through its ground-breaking corporate social responsibility program, One Team.

The synergy of One Team’s goals with those of the European Week of Sport, which aims to promote physical activity for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level, makes for a natural partnership with Euroleague Basketball.

The cooperation of clubs from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the 7DAYS EuroCup will enable European Week of Sport’s primary rallying cry – #BEACTIVE – to reach millions of basketball fans across the continent over the next seven days.

“We are delighted that our clubs will join us in spreading the word about such a positive initiative as the European Week of Sport,” Jordi Bertomeu, President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said. “It comes at the perfect time of year, when everybody is turning their attention to the upcoming basketball season, and it sends the right message: be active in sports!”

In the first year of the partnership, Euroleague Basketball and its clubs will dedicate the week to raising awareness of the European Week of Sport through their multiple communications platforms. Some clubs will use their preseason games to sound the call to happiness through exercise, as well.

Euroleague Basketball will also dedicate time at its One Team Annual Workshop later this month to share the European Week of Sport message and show how it converges with that of One Team, which is planning for more than 30 programmes to be implemented in the upcoming season.
