In the second clash between the Spanish and German champions, Valencia Basket prevailed 86 – 70 over Brose Bamberg, which hasn’t won a game on the road since the 2nd of November.

Fernando San Emeterio paced the winners with 16 points and 5 assists. Alberto Abalde, who played in the point guard position led Valencia in scoring with 18 while Bojan Dubljevic contributed with 14 points and 7 boards. Dejan Musli led coach Ilias Kantzouris’ team with 14.

Valencia suffered a huge comeback in Bamberg, where the German side erased a 12-point deficit with three minutes left to escape with the win. That day, the “Taronjas” arrived at the zenith of their EuroLeague crisis and practically said goodbye to playoffs.

This time around Valencia had full control of the game as they were leading by 17 (28 – 11) at the end of the first period, but nothing could have been further from the truth. Txus Vidorreta’s men second quarter was a complete disaster as they scored just 9 points and Bamberg took the lead (39 – 42, 24′).

Luka Mitrovic played his first minutes for the losing side after his injury while Latavious Williams made his season debut for Valencia. With the American player, the hosts opened the floor and a three-point rampage closed the game (15-of-31 in total from beyond the arc). Valencia awoke from the nightmare early enough to avoid Bamberg’s back-to-back comebacks.
