Maccabi Tel Aviv is in negotiations with American combo guard Joe Young, according to Israeli website Sport 5.

Young will officially become a free agent on July 1st since the Indiana Pacers have decided to decline the 2018-2019 $1.6M option on his contract. The management of Maccabi has already contacted the 26-year-old player in order to express the club’s interest, per the report by Sport 5.

If Maccabi strikes a deal with Young, then the player will become the team’s third transfer ahead of the upcoming season, following the additions of guard Kendrick Ray and forward Angelo Caloiaro. The “Yellows” are looking to seriously reinforce their roster after a season during which they failed to reach the EuroLeague playoffs for the third year in a row and it remains to be seen if Young becomes a member of the 2018-2019 squad.

Young averaged 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds over 10.5 minutes in 53 games of the 2017-2018 season.
