Charles Jenkins: “We’re a little deep in the hole”

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Despite missing Alexey Shved, Khimki put up a fight against the reigning champion Real Madrid but lost in the end. Charles Jenkins talked to Eurohoops after the game and although he thinks they played well, a loss is still a loss in his book: “From the confidence standpoint, I think we did some good things, we played the best we can against a very good team on the road. But it’s a loss and it’s not gonna help us.”

He also admitted it will be hard to recover from the 1-6 start but it’s certainly doable: “Baskonia had similar troubles last year but they made a stride in February and secured a playoff spot. But, I mean, we’re a little deep in the hole.”

Nonetheless, he has complete trust in coach Georgios Bartzokas: “Yeah, coach is the head of the snake. He has all the experience, he’s been in every situation.”

Take a look at the full interview with Khimki’s guard and what is his recipe for the Russian squad to get back on their feet:
