Velimir Perasovic replaces Pedro Martinez at the helm of Baskonia

Baskonia announced that the club is parting ways with head coach Pedro Martinez and that Velimir Perasovic returns to the team as the new head coach.

The decision of Baskonia took place the day after the EuroLeague defeat to Buducnost that dropped the team’s record in the competition to 2-5. Baskonia, that is hosting the 2019 Final Four in Vitoria, is currently 11th in the standings and in danger of falling behind in the playoff race way too early.

Perasovic is back with Baskonia for his third stint as head coach. In all his seasons (2006, 2007, 2016) with Baskonia, he has led his team to the Final Four.
