Sarunas Jasikevicius fined by EuroLeague

EuroLeague Basketball announced that Zalgiris Kaunas head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius was fined for “acts that represent lack of respect towards the officiating crew.” The Lithuanian team was sanctioned after the fans threw objects on the floor during the game vs. CSKA Moscow.

Per EuroLeague Basketball:

Euroleague Basketball has announced disciplinary sanctions pertaining to incidents that occurred in Round 16 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season.

  • Mr Sarunas Jasikevicius, head coach of Zalgiris Kaunas has been sanctioned with a fine of 4,500€ for acts that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on occasion of its team’s home game against CSKA Moscow under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
  • Zalgiris Kaunas has been sanctioned with a fine of 500€ for the throwing of objects onto the playing court by its fans on occasion of its home game against CSKA Moscow under Article 29.2.h) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.
