Buducnost Voli Podgorica prevailed over Real Madrid with a 73-60 victory in Round 19 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and for the first time in the season, they managed two back-to-back victories after beating Darussafaka last week.

The Podgorica side came in with their fifth win so far against the reigning EuroLeague champions, that lacked Jaycee Carroll for one more week.

Buducnost’s perfect teamwork kept them in charge throughout the game and managed to keep their visitors in their lowest points scored of the season. Real had scored 63 overall points in their loss to Fenerbahce in Istanbul in late December.

Norris Cole set the tone with 14 points, NBA draft prospect Goga Bitadze posted 13 points and 10 boards, while Coty Clarke finished with 8 points and 10 assists.

On the other side of the court, Sergio Llull was the only player of the Spanish team to score in double digits and finished with 10 points.

“They really outplayed us, they played really smart. It was hard for us to match up. For us it’s a great lesson and the only thing we can do is move on and think about the next game”, commented Pablo Laso after the game.
