Vatutin: If Milos hadn’t gone to the NBA, he would have regretted it

CSKA Moscow’s president, Andrey Vatutin, discussed about Milos Teodosic with Izvestia, the Serb guard’s future and his NBA tenure. He pointed out that CSKA’s former player hasn’t yet decided if he will join a EuroLeague club this season: “When we talked, I understood he hadn’t decided yet to return to the EuroLeague or if he prefers to recuperate ahead of the 2019 World Cup”.

After being waived by the Los Angeles Clippers, the 31-year-old might put the World Cup on top of his list of priorities, as Vatutin explained:: “He will do everything possible to play for his National Team. Also, his wife is expecting their first baby and he wants the best for his family. Basketball isn’t the only issue in his mind”.

On Teodosic’s decision in the summer of 2017 to leave CSKA and join the Clippers, he said: “He is a great court general, but in the NBA you need to be young and healthy. He was unlucky with injuries the past one and a half years. In any case, he did a good job and tried for the best. If he hadn’t gone to the NBA, he would have regretted it until the end of his life”.
