The Boston Celtics showed interested for Vincent Poirier’s services, according to French newspaper L’Equipe. The 25-year-old French center himself commented on the rumor via BeBasket: “It’s nice to hear that such organizations are interested in me, but the rest of season is my priority.”

The NBA team is looking to add size in its squad ahead of the 2019 playoffs and reportedly approached Poirier who is under contract until the end of the 2019-20 campaign. “As long as you’re contracted, you can’t engage into discussions” EuroLeague’s top rebounder said.

He’s averaging 8,1 boards per match in the EuroLeague 2018-19 Regular Season, but didn’t reject a potential NBA move: “I don’t prefer EuroLeague or the NBA, but I’ll make my decision if two contracts are on the table. I won’t move to the NBA to find myself sitting on the bench.”

The EuroLeague breakout star is averaging 11,3 points and 1,1 assists per game with KIROLBET Baskonia in Europe’s premier competition this season. He also has 8,6 points, 6,1 rebounds and 1,4 rejections per contest in the ACB 2018-19 Regular Season.
