Perasovic: We showed we can compete against CSKA

KIROLBET Baskonia is down 2-1 in the EuroLeague best-of-five series versus CSKA Moscow. The Spanish club won on the road last week, but dropped Wednesday’s home game and fell behind. Friday’s match is Baskonia’s chance to knot the series, 2-2, instead of being eliminated from the 2019 Final Four.

“In the last games we played against them we showed we can compete” Velimir Perasovic pointed out and went on: “We will not give up, of course. We will try to win this game so we can go back to Moscow. To defeat CSKA we have to play a solid game.”

Adding on his head coach, Vincent Poirier said: “We knew that the series would be hard. The war is not over and we have one more game at home to keep believing. We will have to be more aggressive, be focused and follow our plan. The atmosphere at Buesa was phenomenal, so I hope it happens again in Game 4 because it is one of our weapons.”

Injured Jayson Granger is out, but the rest of Baskonia’s players are available for Game 4. If the Spanish side pulls off a home victory on Friday, the two teams will meet again next week at Russia in a winner-takes-all Game 5.
