Argyris Pedoulakis returned to Panathinaikos OPAP Athens as the two sides have agreed on a 1+1 contract, per club announcement. The Greek coach was freed of his duties in Peristeri’s bench just a few hours before Panathinaikos’ official announcement.

Given that a few days ago Rick Pitino rejected Panathinaikos’ offer to return next season, the Greens moved forward with their plan to sign a Greek coach as Eurohoops prior reported. Pedoulakis’ name ranked high on the list, as he has already had two tenures with the reigning Greek Basket League champions (2012-14, 2016).

The 55-year-old coach led Panathinaikos to the 2013 championship in the Greek League, while he also seized two Greek Cups in 2013 and 2014 respectively. As a player, he was also a member of Panathinaikos and also of Peristeri. He has also coached Unics Kazan, outside the Greek borders.
