Jock Landale’s future still in limbo between Kaunas and Belgrade

Although Zalgiris Kaunas announced that they have reached an agreement with Partizan and acquired Jock Landale, the player hasn’t been officially released yet by the Serbian club.

Zalgiris sports director Robertas Javtokas told “24sek” that they’ve done everything by the book and don’t see any reason for the transfer not to be completed: “We don’t see why something should be different. We did everything according to the rules, everything is clearly recorded in the contract. But for some reason, Partizan has its own arguments.”

The details are not known but shortly after Zalgiris’ official announcement, Partizan President Ostoja Mijailovic said that the player hasn’t signed anything and that he won’t necessarily end up in Lithuania. “Landale has not signed anything yet. In a month, he can be Zalgiris’ player, but when the clauses and obligations to Partizan which are not small have been fulfilled. We are in contact with Zalgiris and if we agree, we will give our statement on this basis”, he told Telegraf.
