ASVEL Villeurbanne announced the signing of All-Basketball Champions League center Ismael Bako. The 23-year-old Belgian big guy signed a two-year contract with the French Jeep Elite reigning champion and EuroLeague returnee.
Bako comes off a breakthrough season in BCL with Belgian side Antwerp Giants. He averaged 11.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.2 assists in 22.9 minutes, as the Giants made the Final Four of the competition and won third place. Bako was named to the BCL Star Lineup (First Team).
In Belgium, Bako won MVP of the Cup following the Giants’ win over Oostende in the Final. He was then named the league’s “Belgian Player of the Year”.
