Zalgiris Kaunas confirmed the interest of Fenerbahce Beko to acquire French point guard Leo Westermann from the Lithuanian club. The player is under a contract with Zalgiris until 2020.

“Fenerbahce has expressed the interest in Leo Westermann,” Zalgiris mentions in the announcement of the signing of Alex Perez.  The two sides are already negotiation a buyout and a deal should be finalized next week according to Eurohoops’ sources.

Westermann re-joined Zalgiris in 2018. During the 2018-2019 EuroLeague, he averaged 6.8 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 17 minutes over 27 games. He was a starter in 11 matches.

If Westermann joins Fenerbahce, he will be paired with fellow French guard, reigning champion and former season and Final Four MVP Nando De Colo.
