Khimki inks Chris Kramer

Chris Kramer inked a one-year contract with an option for another season with Khimki Moscow Region, the Russian club announced on Sunday. “I am very excited about joining Khimki and getting to compete at the highest level in Europe” the 31-year-old American guard noted upon signing.

The Purdue alumni spent his last couple of seasons at Lithuania with Rytas Vilnius adding on his 7DAYS EuroCup experience. After five EuroCup campaigns and a grand total of 57 appearances between Rytas and EWE Baskets Oldenburg, he is now set for his EuroLeague debut.

He played under Rimas Kurtinaitis in the first half of his Lithuanian stint and will reunite with the 59-year-old Lithuanian coach at Khimki: “It will be great to rejoin coach Kurtinaitis. I’m grateful for him pursuing and wanting me to join the club”.

On his 2018-19 season, injuries held the American guard to 8 EuroCup games with 6.3 points, 4.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per contest. He also notched 8.6 points and 4.4 assists per LKL game.

Aside from EuroLeague, the 2019-20 season will bring Kramer to the VTB United League for the first time as well.

The Russian side previously added Timofey Mozgov, Jeremy Evans, Stefan Jovic, Dairis Bertans, Devin Booker, Sergey Karasev, Evgeny Valiev and Andrey Desiatnikov, re-signed Sergey Monia, Slava Zaytsev and Egor Vialtsev, also kept Janis Timma.
