Velimir Perasovic: I think we should make a transfer

Baskonia will face Zalgiris on Friday in their first game for the new Euroleague season. Before traveling to Kaunas, Velimir Perasovic analyzed the similarities between his team and the Lithuanian team. Although he believes that the signing policy of both clubs is very similar, he mentions there’s a difference between the two teams.

“It’s a team very similar to us, except for one thing,” tells Perasovic. “They don’t have the same pressure as we do. If we don’t rank in the top eight, for us it’s a failure. Not for them.”

The season has just begun, but Baskonia is already injury-plagued. Jayson Granger’s most recent injury will keep him away from action for six months.

“First we must wait for the incorporation of Stauskas, which we hope will be immediate. Maybe next week. Then we will re-evaluate things. I think we should make a transfer because it is the beginning of the season. In the second minute of the season, a player is injured and changes our plans. But, I repeat, now we must wait for the incorporation of Stauskas to see how the team looks like.”
