The budget of Barcelona for the 2019-2020 season is the highest in the history of the basketball section of the club.

Per a report by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona will operate on a budget of 41.476 million euros in 2019-2020. It is the first time ever that the club will have a budget that exceeds the 40 million mark. The figure surpasses the 2018-2019 budget by more than five million.

The blockbuster signing of former NBAer Nikola Mirotic, plus the acquisitions of former All-EuroLeague guard Malcolm Delaney, 2019 All-EuroLeague center Brandon Davies, reigning EuroLeague champion Cory Higgins and former NBAer Alex Abrines heavily contributed to the budget rising to unprecedented numbers.

While the budget has seen such a considerable increase, the 2019-2020 revenues are expected to go in a completely opposite direction. The losses will create a projected deficit of 32.265 million euros, a number which, if confirmed, will be the largest in the history of the Blaugrana.

The 2019-2020 budget fo Barcelona was included in the annual report for 2018-2019 that was presented in the club’s general assembly.
