In his 236st EuroLeague appearance, Sergio Rodriguez became the fifth player to reach the 1,100-assist mark in Europe’s premier competition. The 33-year-old Spaniard guard dished six dimes helping AX Armani Exchange Milan defeat Zalgiris Kaunas on Friday to rise his total to 1,105.

Milos Teodosic is fourth with 1,126 in 237 games. Vassilis Spanoulis is on top with 1,422 assists and counting, while Dimitris Diamantidis finished his career with 1,255 and currently sidelined Thomas Heurtel has 1,173.

Rodriguez got off the mark back in the 2004-05 season dishing 39 assists for Adecco Estudiantes, 2.8 per contest. He has since improved his averages to 4.7 assists per game making 717 dimes for Real Madrid through six campaigns and adding 337 more for CSKA Moscow the past couple of seasons.

He already counts 12 final passes in two appearances with Milan and is on pace to climb to fourth place over Teodosic. El Chacho will likely battle Heurtel for third or even second place in the later stages of his tenth EuroLeague run.
