Baskonia in the market for a small forward

Injury woes altered initial plans for KIROLBET Baskonia and Velimir Perasovic. Shortly after the addition of Sergi Garcia to his squad, the 54-year-old Croatian head coach talked about future plans revealing that the Spanish side is in the market for a small forward.

“We are looking for another player” he noted in the press conference ahead of the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 12 home match against Anadolu Efes, “We are searching for a player but have not found one up to the standards set. CSKA with a lot more money has not acquired a player despite searching for two months. We are looking for the best possible solution in the small forward position. Injuries forced our hand.”

“After Granger’s injury we needed a player ready for action” he said referring to Sergi Garcia who is expected to be available for Sunday’s ACB Regular Season Round 12 home match versus Joventut Badalona, “We saw the opportunity and took advantage. He knows ACB and can help us in EuroLeague.”

Baskonia currently sits in ninth place of the EuroLeague standings with a 5-6 W-L tally. Perasovic’ side is 5-6 in ACB as well.
