Cory Higgins: Everybody always wants to see CSKA lose

With a father, Rod Higgins, who spent 13 seasons in the NBA, and a godfather, Michael Jordan, from basketball royalty, Cory Higgins may have seemed predestined for one sport, but that was not always the case.

“I was actually better at baseball and soccer,” Higgins reveals, “but basketball was in my blood. There was really no other option.”

Higgins also talked about being crowned a EuroLeague champion for the second time in his career last season, when CSKA won the trophy in Vitoria.

“There were a lot of doubters for sure about that team. And I think we fed off that, though. Everybody always wants to see CSKA lose anyway,” Higgins said about the 2019 CSKA squad that won the EuroLeague.

With a one-hour format of exclusive one-on-one interviews, The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas goes well beyond the playing court with each podcast to delve into the life experiences that have made his guests protagonists and legends of the EuroLeague. This season, he is also reviewing the EuroLeague’s modern history in its 20th season of this century by talking to the legends who have made the competition more popular than ever.
