By recalling Arturas Milaknis from Unics Kazan back to Kaunas, Zalgiris chose not to pick up the second year option in Martynas Pocius’ contract thus releasing him from the team. The Lithuanian swingman had already found the new destination of his career which will most likely be Murcia.

As first reported by Lithuanian journalist Andrius Dainys and as Eurohoops sources can confirm, the 30-year old international player is very close to signing a one-year deal with the Spanish club. Apart from its obligations in the ACB, Murcia is bound to make its debut in an international competition, by participating in next season’s Eurocup.

Of course, Pocious already has a good knowledge of the Liga Endesa whereabouts. He was previously a part for Real Madrid from 2011 to 2013, with which he won the 2013 Spanish League  title, the 2012 Copa Del Rey and reached the Euroleague Final of 2013.
