After losing Ian Vougioukas, a presence in the paint was needed and he was found today. Zalgiris Kaunas made official on Friday morning the addition of big man Antanas Kavaliauskas for the next two seasons.

Kavaliauskas (2.08 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Lithuanian archrival Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, where he spent the last two years. He had previously played in teams like Bilbao Basket of Spain, VEF Riga of Latvia (league champ in 2012 and 2013) or Panionios of Greece, and he played college ball in Texas A&M from 2005 to 2007. He is also a member of the Lithuanian national team, and won a silver medal at the 2015 EuroBasket.
