Comfortable victory for Panathinaikos vs Maccabi

While the first game of the “Diamonds Are Forever” tournament was an overtime thriller, the second match between Panathinaikos and Maccabi was an easy-peasy win for the home team.

With four players scoring in double digits, the Greens won 78 – 68 in a manner which was perhaps easier than what the final scores shows.

Ex Baskonia Giannis Bourousis and Mike James scored 13 points each, while James Gist dropped 12 and Nikos Pappas 11.

The trio of Maik Zirbes (15 points), Victor Rudd (14 points) and Guy Pnini (13 points) stood out for the Yellows.

Panathinaikos got off to a hot start, leading 26 – 16 after the first quarter and then simply kept increasing its lead. Even though the Israelis approached their opponents a bit in the fourth quarter, they never became truly threatening since the PAO always kept them at a distance.
