Comfortable roadkill by Maccabi against Zalgiris

It’s safe to assume that after the sacking of Erez Edelstein, Maccabi Tel Aviv looks kinda rejuvenated. The Israelis recorded their second Euroleague victory by beating Zalgiris Kaunas 87 – 74  in Lithuania.

It became obvious from relatively early in the game “Yellows” arrived in Kaunas with some wild intentions, being efficient enough on both ends to finish the first half with a double-digit lead 43 – 32.

Zalgiris tried to fight back, but their defense was lackluster and definitely not appropriately strong to change the fate of the game. Maccabi smelled “blood” in the fourth quarter and finished the job easily.

Τhe trio of Andew Goudelock (18 points), Devin Smith (17 points) and Sonny Weems (16 points) caused the most problems for Zalgiris Kaunas, while Lukas Lekavicius superb all-around output (16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) wasn’t enough for the hosts
